Cosmetic Dentistry

We provide a full range of cosmetic dental solutions to enhance the appearance of your smile, teeth and overall confidence. Cosmetic dentistry may also improve the overall function of your mouth and teeth.

If you are looking for cosmetic dentistry, we will be sure to take the time to inform you about your current dental health and provide you with treatment options for achieving an attractive and healthy smile.

The cosmetic dentistry treatments that we offer include:

  • Veneers
  • Teeth Whitening
  • Bonding

Veneers may be recommended for those who are interested in improving the look of your teeth due to stains and the overall appearance of your teeth. They are adhesively bonded to the surface of a tooth to correct and repair chipped, fractured or broken teeth, as well as close gaps between teeth.

Veneers are custom-made and adhesively bonded to fit over your natural teeth. The foundation of your natural teeth must be strong and healthy in order to be a candidate for veneers. The esthetic improvement from veneers can give a great boost to your confidence.

Teeth Whitening

If you have dull, discolored or stained teeth, teeth whitening may be an option for you. It is also helpful to reverse effects of aging or stains from food and tobacco. Teeth whitening is an excellent way to restore the natural color of your teeth or even make them whiter than your natural color.

We feel that the best way to whiten teeth is with custom-fitted whitening trays that we fabricate. This at-home procedure will usually take between one and three weeks to achieve the desired effect, depending on your needs. It’s proven safe and very effective. Custom trays help avoid irritation to your gums. For very dark teeth, longer treatment time may be necessary, but it’s still the safest and most effective technique. Our dentists can evaluate your teeth and recommend proper teeth whitening strength.

We also caution our patients about the use of a whitening toothpaste. The latest research has shown that silica in toothpaste (added for it’s abrasiveness) causes wear on the sides and chewing surfaces of teeth. We see this wear on teeth all the time, but this new research about silica is very compelling. Whitening toothpaste has a lot of silica. At-home whitening with custom trays (or using over-the-counter Crest White Strips) is much safer for your teeth and is far more effective than a whitening toothpaste.

Bonding is the application of tooth-colored composite resin to enhance the aesthetics of your smile. It can be used to cover stains or discolored teeth, correct cracks or gaps in teeth and as a filling after a cavity has been removed. Composite resin is molded and sculpted over an adhesive that is placed on the tooth. After the resin has been applied, an LED light is used to harden the resin. It is then polished to give you a fresh, new smile.
